Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Our global economy results in emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants which are directly influencing weather and climate. Climate change is already being felt, most keenly by the world’s poorest and vulnerable people. If these emissions continue unchecked, we will more dramatic changes in climate. The challenge of climate change is twofold. First, to make the transition to a lower-carbon global economy. Second, to adapt to the impacts of future climate changes. This will require difficult decisions about the way the economy and society are structured, and raises a range of difficult questions for development.

How will climate change affect food production, water resources and livelihoods in the developing world?
    How believable are climate predictions?
How can we adapt to climate change? How will negotiations on greenhouse gas emissions affect developing nations?
What will   ’low carbon development’ look like? How can we ensure equitable outcomes of climate change policies, locally, nationally and internatinoally?

As climate change becomes mainstream within development, there is a growing need for qualified professionals to address these challenges. This programme equips students and development practitioners with the key skills and knowledge to work on the implications of climate change for global and regional development. <title>Master of Bioscience Program</title>
<link>http://www.fondacijamilanjelic.org/index.php?Page=stipendije_medjunarodne&amp;ID=Master_Bioscience</link>
<description>The Master of Bioscience (MBS) challenges you to move past compartmentalized subject matter to unlock the relationships between business, engineering, and science.  It takes two intense years of cross-disciplinary study and real-world projects with leaders in the bioscience industry.  The program includes a hands-on internship and a capstone Team Master's Project.  The degree proves to be as dynamic as the experience of obtaining it.

Student Background and Preparation

All applicants must have received at least a  bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or its international equivalent, prior to enrollment.

Of the factors considered during the selection process, academic preparation, practical experience, and career aspirations will be foremost. Although a major in the natural/life sciences, pre-med, mathematics, engineering, or computer science is likely to provide the most thorough academic preparation for our program, it is not a prerequisite for admission. However, the demanding and broad reach of technical training at KGI requires a comparable level of requisite knowledge and skills.

Ideal preparation would include coursework in the following areas:

    Molecular biology/basic genetics
    Chemistry and biochemistry
    Organic chemistry
    Statistics
Mathematics (at least calculus; differential equations helpful)

Work experience in fields directly related to biotechnology, engineering, computing, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and instrumentation, and medical, environmental, and agricultural biotechnology is looked upon favorably by the Admissions Committee. Employment in areas of policy planning, regulation, and businesses closely allied with the life sciences also provides relevant experience.

Deadline:

10-09-2009

<link>http://www.fondacijamilanjelic.org/index.php?Page=stipendije_medjunarodne&amp;ID=Masters_Brand_Communication</link>
<description>Masters in Brand Communication Cooperation between AssoComunicazione, Politecnico di Milano and POLI.design has given rise to the Master in Brand Communication - Brand design, construction and management, with the objective of training new human resources for use in communication companies, on the basis of design skill, a high cultural entry level, and the indisputably topical nature of communication-linked questions. The traditional profile of communication professionals is changing in order to respond to the significant changes occurring in companies, markets and brand-oriented consumerism. In order to provide an answer to this requirement, AssoComunicazione and Politecnico di Milano have launched the Master in Brand Communication in order to enhance the figure of communication consultant, creating common ground between the areas of communications and the most innovative sectors of Politecnico di Milano. The master intends to examine the contemporary scenario of change using appropriate tools, in order to provide a response to the need for coordinating strategic thought regarding brands, at the core of which lies the concept of brand equity. STRUCTURE OF THE MASTERS The Master in Brand Communication is structured as follows: - Frontal lessons, propaedeutic and specialist, run by a highly-qualified faculty combining resources from Politecnico di Milano, from communication companies and manifacturing companies. This phase will give participants knowledge of the various professional figures involved in communication, and an understanding of the logic, techniques, languages and dynamics required for activating the processes of coordination and management of communication activities that are the subject of the Master in Brand Communication; - Seminars with privileged testimonials from the world of communication, enabling participants to come into direct contact with the leading personalities in communication companies; - Project work (work-groups), in classrooms, with the activation of small groups for the development of communication projects involving meta-design analyses and a brief compilation. This part of the course will bring participants into the most design-oriented part of the master, with true communication campaign simulations and the identification of the marketing mix required to achieve the communication goals. The objective of the communication projects is the identification of strategic thought regarding the brand concept. Students' groups, working under the guidance of experts, will be competing for the creation of the best communication project. - Work-experience stage at companies associate members of AssoComunicazione and manifacturing companies. This part of the master will last approximately three months, and it will enable participants to apply the skills acquired during the course, under the guidance of experts who have been working in agencies with varying professional roles for some time and who will offer their practical advice. Supplied with a given merchandising sector and a product with general characteristics, teamwork will be performed to develop a brief, market analyses, advertising andcommunication project. It thus represents the simulation of a campaign for the launch of a product by means of the synergic operation of various areas of professional activity: marketing, account direction, media planning, art direction and copywriting. At the end of the lecture-room educational activities, the projects will be discussed and evaluated together a board of examiners who will evaluate the results in sight of the stage's insertions. 3. Work-experience stage The work-experience stage is organised with companies who are associate members of AssoComunicazione and manifacturing companies. It lasts about three months, and it enables participants to apply the skills that they have acquired during the course, under the guidance of experts who have been working in agencies, in various roles, for a number of years, and who will provide valuable practical suggestions. 4. Free and independent media is a significant factor for a functioning democracy, social justice and the protection of human rights. The Master's Program is based on the belief that there is a connection between democracy and development, between the freedom of opinion and democracy as well as between free media and development. The prerequisite for the establishment of a functioning, free media system are journalists who realize their role as a critical observer and reporter. This can only be guaranteed when they are professionally trained and feel obligated by a set of journalistic ethics.
By training journalists academically, the Master's Program is therefore a targeted step towards making the media spokespeople for openness within democracy.
The courses are based on the values of democracy, freedom and conflict prevention, civil society and good government - representative of the connection between the media and cooperative development.
Objective

Students will acquire the knowledge and skills that are essential for a journalistic career. They will be able to meet specific occupational requirements with expertise and communicative independence.

Most of our alumni have found employment precisely in these fields.
The MIREES program offers specialized, in-depth knowledge of the post-socialist countries in transition, the new EU member states, and the new East-European neighbour countries to students with a BA in Economics, Politics, International Relations, History, Languages (and Slavic languages in particular), agricultural studies and cultural studies generally.
The program aims at developing language skills. MIREES offers courses in Bosnian-Croatian- Serbian, Bulgarian, basic and advanced Russian, and Slovak (Hungarian and Lithuanian are also available in the 2nd year), as well as Italian for foreigners as an additional option. The curriculum stresses interdisciplinary studies in the economics of transition; politics and international relations; media studies; and history and cultural studies focused on Central, Eastern Europe and the Balkans.

Thirdly, the international dimension of the programme is enhanced through student mobility, by an international faculty composed of prominent scholars of international repute, and a genuinely international student body. (In the previous five cycles we enrolled students from 21 countries including the US, Mexico, Russia, Georgia, Estonia, Macedonia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Albania, Poland, Armenia, Norway, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and, of course, Italy.)
Therefore, we would be extremely grateful if you could encourage your BA students to consider applying to this two year program and, at the same time, if you could forward this message to your colleagues interested in this part of the world. With this in mind we are sending you as an attachment our promotional flyer in a pdf file. It briefly covers all the general aspects of the program, as well as the mission and the profile of our Master of Arts.
Should you need further information, please feel free to contact the Tutor of the course at facscpol-fo.tutormirees@unibo.it or the Faculty Student Office (info.spfo@unibo.it , phone +39.0543.374145) .
Thank you very much for your kind attention and cooperation.
Best regards,

<title>Danish Ministry of Education Scholarship Scheme</title>
<link>http://www.fondacijamilanjelic.org/index.php?Page=stipendije_medjunarodne&amp;ID=Stipendije_Danske_Master</link>
<description>The Danish Ministry of Education Scholarship Scheme is open to highly qualified candidates studying for selected Academy Profession degrees programme. In this section you can find more details about the scheme.
What is The Danish Ministry of Education Scholarship Scheme?
Denmark warmly welcomes highly qualified and motivated students from all over the world. A number of scholarships are therefore offered each year by the Danish Ministry of Education to fund students from countries outside the European Union/ European Economic Area. The scholarships can be awarded for a full degree programme or for part of a degree programme at undergraduate level. The minimum duration of a scholarship is one academic year and it is awarded for full-time studies only. The subject areas which are eligible for funding are listed below.
Who can apply for a scholarship?
In order to be eligible to apply for a scholarship you have to be:
A citizen of a country outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA).
Permanently resident in a non-EU/EEA country.
Studying in Denmark outside any established exchange programme or another kind of agreement, which waives your tuition fee.

Which academic disciplines are included in the scholarship scheme?
The Ministry of Education each year decides which subject areas and study programmes are included in the scholarship programme. In 2009 the following programmes are included:
Academy Profession degree programmes:
Financial Management
Marketing Management
Retail Management
Hospitality and Tourism Management
Agricultural Science
Process Technology
Chemical and Biotechnical Science
Production Technology
Computer Science
Multimedia Design and Communication
All institution offering the subject areas which have been included in the scholarship scheme will be able to inform you about entry requirements, course description, language courses, accommodation, etc. Please read the information under the heading "How and when do I apply?" before requesting an application form. To read more about the programme and the institutions, please use the links below.
Academy Profession degree programme
An Academy Profession (AP) degree programme normally lasts 2 years (120 ECTS credits). The programmes are offered at Academies of Professional Higher Education ( Erhvervsakademier ) throughout Denmark. AP degree programmes combine theory with practice and are suited to employment in business and industry. The qualifications also qualify graduates for further studies at universities.
What kind of financial support can I apply for?
The scholarship covers annual tuition fees and a maintenance grant towards your living costs. The grant is approximately DKK 5,000 (approximately 650 Euro) per month.
How and when do I apply?
If you would like to apply for a scholarship, we would strongly recommend you do the following:
Look at the list of subject areas included in the scholarship scheme to find an interesting study programme, which you are qualified to apply to.
Contact the institution which offers the specific study programme you are interested in. The institution will then provide you with the application form. The institution can also inform you about entry requirements, course descriptions, deadlines and student services.
Complete the application form and send it to the institution you are applying to. Guidelines are included on the application form. If you require further information or guidelines, please have a look at the template version provided by CIRIUS.
Apply for a residence permit. Read the instructions below.
Please note that the deadline for applications at most institutions is in March (for entry the following academic year - August/September). However, please check with the institution you are applying to for exact dates.
When will I be notified about the outcome of my application?
The institution will assess all applications and send a shortlist of candidates to CIRIUS - The National Agency for Internationalisation of Education and Training. CIRIUS and the Danish Ministry of Education will then undertake the final selection. As soon as this process is finalised, the applicants will be notified by the institution where they have applied for a scholarship
How do I apply for a residence permit?
The procedures vary depending on your nationality. Students from outside the EU/EEA should note that they have to apply for the residence permit in their home country. There are also certain financial requirements attached to the process. You can find more information about residence permit in English on the home page of the Danish Immigration Service .
What are my obligations if I am awarded a scholarship?
If you are awarded a scholarship, you are required to follow the programme that you have been awarded a scholarship for. It is not normally possible to transfer your scholarship to another institution. If you do not pass your exams, the scholarship will normally be suspended, except for in exceptional circumstances, e.g. illness, etc. You are also required to submit an annual report with an evaluation of your study experience and stay in Denmark.</description>

<description>.International Business Scholarship Program 2009, Canada
International Business Scholarship Program 2009, Canada: Export Development Canada (EDC) launched its 11th annual national competition of the EDC International Business Scholarship Program. EDCs International Business Scholarship Program is designed to help grow Canada's trade competencies and underlines the importance of international trade among Canada's future business leaders. By incorporating environmental studies with international business into the program, EDC is helping to build Canada's future capacity to engage in international trade in an environmentally responsible manner. Canada has an urgent need to improve our skills and education to produce a generation that has trade in its DNA. Our brightest business school graduates need to aspire to careers with Canadian companies on the streets of Mumbai and Shanghai, not only Bay Street, said EDC's President and CEO Eric Siegel to a senior business audience in Toronto in June. EDC will offer as many as 30 scholarships, 25 of which will recognize exceptional students in the field of international business or economics. The remaining 5 scholarships will be awarded to outstanding business students who combine these fields with a focus on sustainable management or environment studies. The scholarship winners will receive a $3,000 cash award and, if eligible, a possible four-month work term worth approximately $10,000. The work term includes mentoring from leading industry experts at EDC's head office in Ottawa. This year's application deadline is January 26, 2009. Scholarships will be awarded in the spring of 2009 and work terms will be available for the summer of 2009. Students interested in an EDC work term should indicate this at the time of applying for the scholarship. EDC's scholarship program is a key component of its Education and Youth Employment (EYE) Strategy. For additional information about EDC's EYE Strategy and International Business Scholarships, please visit: www.edc.ca/cbie The program is managed on behalf of EDC by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). We are proud to manage the EDC International Business Scholarships, said Jim Fox, CBIE President. This Program recognizes excellence and provides added support to top students. Through cultivating the country's fresh talent, EDC is helping position Canada for cutting-edge achievement in both international and green business. CBIE is a national non-governmental organization with a membership comprising 200 universities, colleges, institutes, school boards, educational organizations, training agencies and provincial ministries of education. CBIE has extensive expertise in scholarship, fellowship and internship management. For information about CBIE, please visit: www.cbie.ca. <title>Eiffel programme</title>
<link>http://www.fondacijamilanjelic.org/index.php?Page=stipendije_medjunarodne&amp;ID=eiffel_programme_scholarship</link>
<description>French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs - Eiffel programme scholarship The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs is introducing a single application procedure for its Eiffel Scholarship and Eiffel Doctorate Scholarship programmes. However, the two programmes have different application forms. The new Eiffel programme thus covers two types of course: - Master’s postgraduate degree course - Ten-month co-tutored or co-managed component (preferably second or third year) of PhD course The objectives of the Eiffel excellence programme are to offer French higher-education opportunities for future public- and private-sector decision-makers in three priority areas: science; economics & management; and law & political science. The second objective is to reach students from emerging countries (with priority on Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and new members of the European Union), though the PhD scholarships also address students from industrialized countries. Applications from students currently studying outside France will be given priority over those from students already studying in France. Eiffel grants cover the following subject areas: - Engineering sciences for the Master’s course, and sciences in a broader sense for the PhD course (engineering sciences, exact sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry) life sciences, nano- and bio-technologies, earth and environment sciences, and information & communication sciences). - Economics and management. - Law and political science. Candidates must not be aged over 30 for a Master’s scholarship (born after 01/01/1979) or over 35 for a PhD scholarship(born after 01/01/1974). Ineligibility factors: - French government grantholders: the Eiffel programme is not open to holders of other French government grants on other programmes, or grants from an organization financed wholly or partly by the French government or French territorial authorities, or welfare coverage grants - Previous applicants for Eiffel grants: except on the master’s programme, previously refused applicants may not re-apply, even in a different subject - Students targeting careers in education or research (for the master’s programme). - Applicants not presented by a French centre (i.e. applications by students themselves, or submitted by a non-French centre) - Duplicate applications, i.e. students proposed by more than one French centre. Applications must be submitted with all the supporting documents listed on page 5 of the application form, and bear the official seal of the French higher education centre plus the signature of the official head of the centre (university dean, school director, etc.), formally certifying the statement of the centre's international outreach policy. The quality charter must also be initialled separately to mark formal acceptance. Applications for Eiffel grants are submitted by French higher education centres from a shortlist of outstanding students they would like to enrol on their courses. Selection is to three criteria: - Academic excellence of applicant, as attested by achievement to date (rated on a scale of 10 and weighted with a coefficient of 3). - International policy of centre submitting application, operations addressing the geographical region in question, calibre of host unit, and suitability with regard to the application (rated on a scale of 5 and weighted to a coefficient of 3). - Cooperation policy of French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, especially as regards the priorities set for different countries under the programme (rated on a scale of 5 and weighted to a coefficient of 1). The list of successful applicants will be published on-line (www.egide.asso.fr/eiffel). The schedule for the 2009 Eiffel programme is as follows: - Application forms available online: September 2008 - Applications to be submitted by Egide: 9 January 2009 - Results announced in week beginning 23 March 2009 Amount of Eiffel scholarship The Eiffel programme does not cover tuition fees, though the higher education centres concerned are invited to apply the best possible financial conditions to Eiffel scholarship-holders. Eiffel scholarship-holders on Master’s courses receive a monthly allowance of EUR1,181. In addition, the programme meets various expenses including return travel, health insurance and cultural activities. Scholarship-holders might also be eligible for additional accommodation allowance. PhD courses: Eiffel scholarship-holders on PhD courses receive a monthly allowance of EUR1,400. In addition, the programme meets various expenses including one return trip (single return trip for law and political science students on multiple stays), health insurance and cultural activities. Scholarship-holders might also be eligible for additional accommodation allowance. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commissioned Égide with management of the Eiffel programme.
